ASSOCIATIONS

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that advocates for and provides assistance to people 50+. The organization offers a wide range of discounts, programs, and services.  A yearly membership is as low as $15 per year at this writing.

.AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens) is considered to be a conservative alternative to AARP with an emphasis on Medicare plans. This association offers similar discounts as AARP and currently costs approximately $16 per year.

Written for women, Retirement Looks Good on Me offers advice on creating the right mindset in retirement for a satisfying and fulfilling life.  Reviewers praise the practical advice and positive tone.

In Living Your Best Life in Retirement, the author argues that retirement is about living with intention.  The book is full of stories and advice about finding purpose and building community. The book can be bundled with a workbook/journal. 

The Joy of Being Retired contrasts the structure and requirements of work with the freedom of retirement.  It is organized by a list of reasons why retirement can be transformational and fulfilling.    

The Happy Retirement Bucket List is a step-by-step guidance to help retirees fill their calendars with enjoyable and fulfilling activities. 

The author argues in Living Your Best Third Act that most people are unprepared for retirement.  He articulates common fears and offers strategies for overcoming these deficits to live a successful retirement.
